Modlist
Load order runs first to last; later mods override earlier ones. Five Workshop items ship more than one mod ID, which is why 64 items produce 72 mod IDs.

Tier 1 Libraries & frameworks
6 modsLoad first. Everything else is built on these — if one fails to download, the mods depending on it fail silently.
-
Load position 01: that DAMN Library
Must load first
Shared framework required by every KI5 vehicle mod on the server. Adds nothing on its own.
-
Load position 02: Tsar's Common Library
Second vehicle framework, needed by the shipping containers and the W900 semi truck.
-
Load position 03: Hot Brass
Visible casing ejection — spent shells physically eject and land on the ground when you fire.
-
Load position 04: Gunworks Framework
The firearms engine Guns of Marz runs on — magazines, rates of fire, attachments, ammo profiles.
-
Load position 05: NeatUI Framework
UI framework underpinning the Clean and Neat interface mods further down the list.
-
Load position 06: Lua Digital Watch Framework
Rebuilds the digital watch interface in Lua. Required by the temperature mod.
Tier 2 Weapons
2 modsContent built on the frameworks above. Military-grade weapons have been pulled from ordinary house loot — you'll find them at checkpoints and on soldier corpses, not in a farmhouse closet.
-
Load position 07: Guns of Marz
Loot restricted
Around 70 firearms across 19 calibres, with attachments, magazines, suppressors and its own ammunition system. Replaces vanilla guns with its equivalents on spawn.
-
Load position 08: Madax Weapons Pack
Melee and tool weapons — axes, machetes, sledgehammers, bats — with contextual chop and cut actions.
Tier 3 Vehicles
7 modsThe KI5 fleet. All of it depends on that DAMN Library at position 01.
-
Load position 09: Trailers!
Towable trailers of various sizes for hauling loot and materials.
-
Load position 10–11: '85 Chevrolet Step-Van
Delivery box van plus expanded variants. Big storage, poor speed.
-
Load position 12–16: '78 AM General M35 Series
Military truck family — cargo hauler, fuel tanker, water tanker and wrecker. Genuinely useful for a base supply run, and loud enough to bring company.
-
Load position 17: '92 AM General M998
Humvee with matching M101A3 cargo trailer.
-
Load position 18: '87 Ford B700 / F700
Heavy truck line — school bus, prison bus, military, SWAT, bank truck and box truck variants.
-
Load position 19–20: '86 Ford Econoline E-150
Panel vans, including a set of pop-culture liveries.
-
Load position 21: Containers!
Shipping containers and container trailers, including fuel tankers. Needs both libraries.
Tier 4 Vehicle systems
3 modsLoads after the vehicles so it can patch them.
-
Load position 22: Better Auto Mechanics
Reworks vehicle repair — clearer part conditions and a less punishing mechanics skill curve.
-
Load position 23: Mass Matters: Roadkill Physics
Bodies react to impact according to mass and speed. Dialled down to half strength here so it stays grim rather than comic.
-
Load position 24: W900 Semi-Truck
Kenworth W900 with car-hauler and container trailers. Military spawns are possible but no longer guaranteed.
Tier 5 Items, gear & world content
12 modsThings to find, wear, build and put on a wall.
-
Load position 25: ALICE Gear
Military webbing, packs and pouches — period-correct load-bearing equipment.
-
Load position 26: Knockoff Outdoor Gear
Budget outdoor tools — clearing machete, brush hook, camp hatchet, splitting axe and maul, plus an IFAK medical pouch.
-
Load position 27: Slow Gas Mask Filters
Gas mask filters deplete over time with a HUD gauge. Covers vanilla, improvised, NBC and SCBA masks.
-
Load position 28: Realistic Backpacks
Four craftable bags via Tailoring — handmade sack, hunting pack, and an assault pack with an optional sleeping bag.
-
Load position 29: Distinguished Bolt Cutters
Bolt cutters that actually work — fences, gates and garage doors, gated behind Strength.
-
Load position 30: Extended Battery Life
Batteries last considerably longer. Doesn't affect car batteries.
-
Load position 31: 50% Wood Weight
Halves the weight of logs and planks so firewood runs stop being an encumbrance puzzle.
-
Load position 32: 3D Gun Racks
Wall-mounted racks that display your weapons as actual 3D models. Works with modded firearms.
-
Load position 33: VHS Collector's Rack
Display shelving for your tape collection. Server-authoritative, so the rack survives restarts.
-
Load position 34: Craftable Military Fences
Build military-grade fencing. Locked behind Metalworking 7, so it's a late-game base upgrade.
-
Load position 35: Machinery
Workshop stations — table saws, drill press, bench grinder, metal lathe, hydraulic press and bandsaw. They draw power and need servicing with oil and spare parts.
-
Load position 36: Spear Traps (Fix)
Dig pit traps and line them with spears. Maintained fork of the original. Traps hurt players too unless disabled.
Tier 6 Crafting & cooking
2 modsDepends on the NeatUI framework at position 05.
-
Load position 37: Project Cook
Cooking overhaul — deeper recipes, better ingredient handling and a reworked food interface.
-
Load position 38: Project Cook — Pixel Icon Pack
Matching pixel-art icons. Must load immediately after the mod above.
Tier 7 Gameplay systems & quality of life
15 modsThe systems layer — power, water, temperature and the conveniences that stop the game being admin work.
-
Load position 39: Manage Containers
Rename and organise storage so your base stops being a guessing game.
-
Load position 40: Proximity Inventory
Access every nearby container from a single pane instead of clicking each one.
-
Load position 41: Rain Cleans Blood
Rain gradually washes blood, ash and droppings off floors, vehicles and clothing.
-
Load position 42: LG Connect To Water Supply
Plumb a building back into the mains while the water is still running.
-
Load position 43: LG Extended Plumbing
Pipe fixtures to real water sources — including barrels — instead of the vanilla all-or-nothing sink.
-
Load position 44–45: LG Extended Electricity
Second ID is opt-in
Reworks how generator power is distributed — relays, breakers and load management, so a generator powers what you actually wire it to instead of everything inside a radius. The second mod ID is an opt-in layer that makes appliances draw realistic amounts of power; drop it from the line and the base mod still works.
-
Load position 46: Realistic Temperature
Body temperature and indoor climate — clothing efficiency, hypothermia, warm air moving through doors and windows, working heaters. The heaviest system on the server.
-
Load position 47: Temperature Affects Food Spoilage
Ambient temperature drives how fast food rots, recalculated every in-game hour.
-
Load position 48: Jumbo Tree Indoor Fix
Stops oversized trees rendering through building interiors.
-
Load position 49: Faster Actions
Speeds up the chores — crafting, building, transfers, washing, tailoring. Combat-relevant actions like reloading are deliberately left near vanilla.
-
Load position 50: Drag Bodies Faster (60%)
Corpse cleanup at 60% of the usual time. One variant only — enabling more than one breaks it.
-
Load position 51: Better Push
Shoving a zombie can knock over the ones behind it, scaling with Strength. Crowd control that rewards a good build.
-
Load position 52: Reload All Ammo
Right-click a box and fill every compatible magazine in one queued action, fullest first.
-
Load position 53: Video Meister
Tracks which VHS tapes and broadcasts you've already watched.
-
Load position 54: Has Been Read
Marks books you've finished, so you stop hauling duplicates home.
Tier 8 Interface
11 modsAll downstream of the NeatUI framework. Mostly client-side — they change what you see, not how the world behaves.
-
Load position 55: Neat Building
Cleaner, better-sorted construction menu.
-
Load position 56: Neat Crafting
Reworked crafting window — far easier to find a recipe in B42's much larger tree.
-
Load position 57: Neat Rocco's UI
Additional interface refinements across the Neat suite.
-
Load position 58: Clean UI
Tidier inventory and window chrome throughout.
-
Load position 59: PZ Pulse
Health and condition readout at a glance.
-
Load position 60: PZ Map
In-game minimap. A UI layer only — the world map itself is unchanged.
-
Load position 61: Automark
Automatically marks locations on the map and shares them with your party and safehouse group. Colour-coded by who it came from.
-
Load position 62: Carry Visible Items In Hands
Carried objects render in your character's hands rather than vanishing into the void. Covers 250+ items.
-
Load position 63: Combat Text
Floating damage numbers on hits.
-
Load position 64: Responsive Context Menus
Right-click menus refresh in place as things change, instead of going stale the moment you move.
-
Load position 65: Workshop Update Checker
Flags when a subscribed mod has been updated — useful for spotting the cause when something breaks.
Tier 9 Late overrides & fixes
7 modsLoads last on purpose. These patch things the mods above create, so they have to get the final word.
-
Load position 66: Useful Barrels
Barrels store fuel, water and chemicals, refuel generators and vehicles, and can be filled from cars. Sits late so its right-click options win.
-
Load position 67: Clean HotBar
Tidier hotbar. Author-recommended to load near the bottom.
-
Load position 68: Fix BlowTorch & Propane Tank
Corrects vanilla propane and blowtorch behaviour.
-
Load position 69: Fix Carry Capacity
Server-enforced cap on how much anyone can carry. Set to 70 here — below vanilla, deliberately.
-
Load position 70: Nick's Inventory Selection Fix
Order-critical
Stops your inventory selection being lost mid-action. Must load after the other inventory mods to take effect.
-
Load position 71: Common Sense
A broad realism pass — prying doors and windows, obvious item collecting, shattering vehicle glass, better gun stats. Author-recommended to load at the end.
-
Load position 72: Marz Animsets for Linux
Must load last
Fixes weapon animations for Hot Brass, Gunworks and Guns of Marz on Linux servers. Has to be dead last or it does nothing.
Load order runs top to bottom — later mods override earlier ones. Every entry links to its Steam Workshop page.
