I spend a long time on colour schemes. I know what shades I want, but I can never get the colours right. 

Borntwisted had another cool idea some time ago, about using graded palettes. The graded palette consists of 22 shades, including black, white and the original colour. The original colour sits on the bottom layer, and all the shades sit above, efectivley giving you 19 new colours to chosse from. 

Simple yet effective design tips from Borntwisted, yet again makes my life easier, as if I am not told, I usually take the long path to achieve the same effects. :-)
